Expertly crafted translations
Our policy is simple: offer you the perfect translation in the language of your choice, irrespective of the field and however technical or complex the content.
We are not an “industrial” agency, nor do we use automatic translation software. We see translation as an art, in which each word is expertly crafted and the end result is perfectly pitched. Our translators will reproduce the content of your text, but also its message, its feel and its style. They will understand who the text is written for, and will produce a translation specially targeted for those readers.
To make this happen, we have adopted a number of procedures and rules; in our opinion, without these rules the word “Quality” would be just that: a word.

Our procedures

Mother-tongue translators only:
This should be a prerequisite but unfortunately some of our competitors don’t seem to think so. Many agencies still have their translations churned out by non-natives. Our view is that in such cases, you as a customer might as well do the translation yourself…

Specialists:
Would you ask an art student to translate a thesis on lung transplants? Neither would we. Our translations are done by specialists in a given field. Before they became professional translators, they all worked for several years in a specific industry, “learning the language” of that industry.

Proofreading:
We proofread every translation we deliver. Even better, this service is included in the basic price. The result is a natural-sounding, faultless translation that genuinely reaches the reader. Our proofreading procedure also helps us in our permanent improvement drive; the insightful dialogue between translator and proofreader results in individual progress and therefore an enhanced service offering.

Quality control:
In-house proofreading is good as far as it goes, but we feel our translators should also benefit from a fresh pair of eyes from time to time. Each of our translators is regularly checked by an external specialist, thereby strengthening our quality procedures and knowledge base.

Certification

There are so many national, European and international standards – some of which seem to be designed to render true quality impossible – that it is vital to select the right one. Our objective is a new certification specific to translating services developed by Bureau Veritas, because unlike many other standards, this one places the emphasis on continuous improvement rather than red tape. Let’s be clear about this: “Online” does not mean “automatic”. If you decide to purchase an online translation, you are not dealing with a faceless organization and you are not going to receive an error-strewn computer-generated text in return.
